Professional Development Hub, or pd|hub, is a national, multi-stakeholder initiative dedicated to advancing the professional development of graduate-level and postdoctoral scientists. With funding from NIH, we are developing peer-reviewed collections of evidence-based practices in graduate/postdoctoral education (specifically, in the area of STEM PhD career & professional development), paired with training and mentoring to assist educators in adapting, implementing, and evaluating teaching strategies. More about this and other initiatives of pd|hub are highlighted in, “Enhancing dissemination of evidence-based models for STEM PhD career development,” a recent report of findings from pd|hub’s NSF-funded cross-disciplinary stakeholder workshop held at Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Janelia Research Campus.
We are hiring a “Collections Editor” to drive forward key aspects of the Collections project. The Collections Editor will be part of the core team for pd|hub; work with leaders in science, higher education, and education research; and play a central role in developing this new dissemination model. Flexible employment arrangements, including full-time or part-time work, and remote work, can be considered. The Collections Editor will be an employee of UMass Medical School; this is a benefited position.
To apply, submit your resume/CV and cover letter here, and send a copy to cynthia.fuhrmann@umassmed.edu. Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
