SABER 2026 Annual Meeting Abstracts

The SABER Abstract Committee has announced the official Call for Abstracts for the Annual Meeting. Abstract submission will be open February 9-23, 2026, for both virtual and in-person submissions. 


The abstract submission window for all in-person and virtual presentations is February 9-23, 2026. The link to the Microsoft CMT submission portal will appear on this page beginning on February 9.  

The Microsoft CMT service was used for managing the peer-reviewing process for this conference. This service was provided for free by Microsoft and they bore all expenses, including costs for Azure cloud services as well as for software development and support.

Abstract reviewers needed: Please consider volunteering as an abstract reviewer. See the call below for details.

2026 SABER Annual Meeting Call for Abstracts

Changes this year: 

  • All abstract submissions (for the June 25th virtual day and July 9-12th in-person days) will be reviewed using the same rubric and review process. During the submission process, you will be asked on CMT if you want to present virtually only, in-person only, or if you are flexible for either conference modality.

  • Consistent with previous years, individuals can only be an author on three unique in-person short talk abstract submissions (ANY author position). In order to expand opportunities for virtual presentations, an individual can be a collaborating author on a fourth unique virtual short talk abstract submission.

  • This year, workshop submissions will be uploaded to CMT text boxes directly, rather than in PDFs uploaded to CMT.

Call for Abstract Reviewers

It is expected that individuals who submit an abstract (or who are advisors of individuals submitting abstracts) will also serve to review others’ abstracts. We also very much welcome those not submitting an abstract to review. Creating the best meeting program possible requires that we have an active community willing to donate their time to this effort. Please complete the sign up form for reviewers by January 23 (Link: Reviewer Signup Form). Reviewing will take place between March 1 through March 29.

Coaching in Abstract Writing

The Mentoring Committee is offering coaching in abstract writing for short talks!

Who should participate?

Abstract submitters that would like additional coaching and people that are willing to coach short talk abstract submitters.
