    Job Title: Professional Development Coordinator – Education Program Specialist

    Department: Arts and Sciences | Center for Life Science Education

    The Education Program Specialist leads the planning, implementation, and assessment of the CLSE teaching associate (TA) professional development program, including coordination of Biology 5001, including the coordination and training for TA observations and feedback; train, evaluate, mentor, and seek professional development opportunities for TAs. During collaborative meetings, contributes to new faculty instructors in the development of their courses by employing principles of backward design and other evidence-based techniques. Collaborates with instructional team to discuss student feedback and course redesign. Facilitates others in biology education research and presents research findings; develops and leads pedagogy and biology education-related workshops offered on- and off-campus and coordinates professional development activities led by others.

    Required Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience in Biology or related area. A minimum of two years of relevant experience.

    Desired Qualifications:

    Master’s degree or equivalent education/experience in Biology or related area. Two years of relevant experience in student-centered biology teaching desired.
