    The Department of Biology at DeSales University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Biology at the assistant professor rank with expertise in microbiology and molecular/cell biology to begin August 2023. The successful candidate should hold a Ph.D. (or ABD) in Biology or closely related discipline at the time of appointment. Teaching expectations include contributing to our current offerings in Microbiology and Molecular/Cell Biology, as well as contributing to our biology curriculum and developing courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Additionally, the candidate is expected to develop an active research program that will include undergraduate students. Candidates who are completing teaching postdoctoral fellowships are welcome to apply. Salary and rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and training. The position will report to the Division Head of Sciences and Mathematics.

    The Department of Biology is housed in the Priscilla Payne Hurd Science Center and Campbell Hall. Our facilities are well-equipped for cell/tissue culture, fluorescence microscopy, small animal, molecular biology/genetics, microbiology, and neuroscience research. University endowment funds are available to provide start-up support for new faculty and continued support for research endeavors.
