    The Department of Biology at the University of North Florida invites applications for a Lecturer position to begin August 3, 2020. Lecturers are twelve-month recurring, non-tenure track laboratory instructional faculty. The successful applicant will have at least one year of experience in teaching undergraduate laboratory courses, excellent organizational and writing skills, and strong oral communication skills. For position #300170,  we are seeking a candidate with experience in a range of courses including molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, and/or microbiology. The successful applicant will be able to act as Course Coordinator of the primary assignment, but the ability and willingness to teach a variety of courses is highly desirable. The Course Coordinator responsibilities will include, coordination with professors, lecturers, GAs and laboratory managers, preparing materials for laboratory meetings, maintaining the course laboratories, developing new laboratory exercises, training and supervising graduate assistants, maintaining and updating a laboratory manual, organizing grading and assessments, teaching at least 4-5 lab sections and contributing to departmental governance. The minimum qualifications are a Master’s degree in biology or a related discipline. Preferred qualifications: Excellent interpersonal skills and experience as lead instructor for a college-level biology course.
