    Job Title: Course Coordinator

    Department: Arts and Sciences | Center for Life Science Education

    CLSE Course Coordinator leads the development and coordination of Biology non-majors GE Foundational courses and the GE Theme courses and participates in all aspects of planning, implementation, and assessment for those courses; trains, evaluates, and mentors graduate (GTA), contract lecturers, and undergraduate (UTA) teaching associates in teaching methods; manages timely analysis of student performance on all course exercises; develops course materials for laboratory instruction and advises lecture instructors in their development of course assessments; collaborates with instructional team to discuss student feedback and course redesign; works with faculty and staff to develop and maintain the course management system; supports new faculty instructors in the development of their courses by employing principles of backward design and other evidence-based techniques; leads weekly instructional meetings with lecturers, staff, GTAs, and UTAs; manages the scheduling of classroom spaces for associated courses; supervises all undergraduate TAs for Associated courses; communicates and collaborates with instructional teams in life science departments and regional campuses; participates in and presents biology education research, pedagogy and biology education-related workshops offered at on- and off-campus sites; stays up to date on relevant literature and industry knowledge relevant to biology; furthers STEM education.

    Required: Master’s Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in biology

    Desired: Experience in teaching with evidence-based techniques desired.
