The Harvard University Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology (HSCRB) is seeking two Preceptors, which are akin to science education postdocs. The successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in a life science discipline with experience teaching science to undergraduate or graduate students. Strong initiative, organizational skills, and communication skills are key.
Position #1 is responsible for helping to oversee and implement primarily undergraduate courses in HSCRB as part of an undergraduate degree in developmental biology.
Position #2 is responsible for helping to oversee and implement primarily graduate courses in HSCRB as part of a new MS/MBA program.
These positions are renewable for up to 8 years. In addition to the formal responsibilities listed, there is a focused and mindful attention on professional development in education and pedagogy. Preceptors in HSCRB can take part in educational research projects and professional development through conferences. They are part of a dynamic education team in which collegiality is grounded in a welcoming, inclusive, and warm environment.
