The Department of Biological Sciences at North Dakota State University invites applications for a 9-month non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Practice position in Biomedical Science to start either January 2023 or August 2023. Upon satisfactory performance this position is renewable and eligible for promotion to Associate and Full Professor of Practice. The position is 80% teaching and 20% scholarly activity and service. The expected salary range is $63,000 - $65,000, depending on experience. Start-up funding will be provided for travel, professional development, and course development. This position is eligible for full benefits and paid faculty developmental leave.

The successful applicant will teach a 3/2 load (5 classes per year).  Teaching duties could include developing and teaching upper-level lecture and lab courses for students interested in cell or molecular biology, genetics, or the biomedical sciences; 2) Cell Biology (BIOL 370); and 3) a sophomore-level course-based undergraduate research experience (CURE) related to cell and molecular biology, genetics, or the biomedical sciences.

Scholarly activity and service could include advising undergraduate research projects, advising students interested in the biomedical sciences, serving on department, college and university committees, collaborating on research and professional development about teaching and learning, development of novel curricular materials or modules, working on science outreach or student recruitment, or other activities as approved by the Department Chair.
