    The Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for a 12-month, full time, Undergraduate Programs Coordinator. The Department of Biological Sciences (DBS) aims to inspire our students to wonder about the living world and strive to better understand it. To accomplish this, one of our strategic goals is to increase the number of degrees awarded from DBS programs by 25%, primarily through focusing on recruitment & retention initiatives and developing more effective relationships with other programs at ISU and beyond.

    Key Responsibilities

    The Undergraduate Programs Coordinator will help our prospective and current students achieve academic success. They will be the primary department contact for incoming freshmen, and will create materials for recruitment and advising. They will also serve on the departmental undergraduate curriculum committee and work with department faculty to enhance student success.

    •    Undergraduate recruiting: tours, events, recruiting materials (30%).
    •    Manage relationships with undergraduate students and faculty: retention, advising, research opportunities (on and off campus), track alumni (50%).
    •    Other duties: Departmental curriculum and scholarships committees, coordinating activities and efforts with other science departments and college-wide initiatives (20%).
