    The Education Research and Outreach Laboratory (EROL) at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center (DDPSC) is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a full-time project manager position. The applicant for this position will be critical in our ability to implement authentic research experiences (AREs) and course-based undergraduate research experiences (CUREs) with multiple institutions, K-16, within the St. Louis Metro area, state-wide, and nationwide. The successful applicant will demonstrate a dedication to education enrichment and collaboration with educators and scientists. They will also be responsible for managing the AREs and CUREs.

    Responsibilities:

    • Recruit college instructors and K-12 educators/teachers and assisting them in implementing AREs and CUREs in their classrooms
    • Collaborate with participant educators in collecting and managing scientific and education research data from all AREs and CUREs
    • Maintaining supply inventories for all AREs and CUREs and organizing digital and physical resources relevant to the AREs and CUREs
    • Balance budgets for all AREs and CUREs
    • Collaborate with Danforth scientists to create new AREs and CUREs
    • Assist Danforth scientists in writing grants to fund AREs and CUREs
    • Prepare annual reports on AREs and CUREs for funding agencies
    • Disseminate findings from AREs and CUREs through publications and presentations at public and scientific events
    • Other duties as assigned

    Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

    • Ability to communicate with students and educators in formal and informal STEM environments
    • Time management skills
    • Effective collaboration and communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Familiarity with basic computer programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
    • Ability to work independently on site and remotely

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree, Masters preferred, in plant sciences, botany, genetics, or science education
    • 1-3 years of relevant STEM education experience conducting science education outreach, and working with educators K-12, and higher education
    • 1-3 years of relevant project management experience
