Scholarly Assistant Professor

School of Molecular Biosciences

The College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University is seeking a full-time (12-month 0.75 FTE) non-tenure Assistant Professor in the School of Molecular Biosciences. The position is approximately 65% formal undergraduate teaching, 25% scholarship, and 10% service to the School, College, University, or profession. The department seeks candidates whose teaching, scholarship, or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.

Faculty in the School are actively engaged in student success initiatives across the institution including the nationally recognized Team Mentoring Program (http://tmp.wsu.edu) and the Transformational Change Initiative (https://provost.wsu.edu/transformational-change-initiative/). Faculty are also nationally and internationally recognized leaders in research on Biology Education, Cellular Signaling, Molecular Reproduction and Regeneration, Infectious Disease, Functional Genomics, and Chromosome Biology and DNA Repair.

Required qualifications include an earned doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in biology, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, biology education research, or closely related field. Candidates must have experience in undergraduate teaching in the life sciences, strong communication skills, ability to work collaboratively and independently, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in undergraduate STEM.
