The Department of Biology at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire (UWEC) is currently conducting two searches for tenure-track faculty members: one for a Vertebrate Ecologist and another for an Infectious Disease Biologist. We are a primarily undergraduate institution and are passionate about teaching and conducting research with undergraduates.
UWEC Biology has unique internal funding opportunities through the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, as well as internal departmental funds to support summer research stipends, travel, and supplies, as well as travel to professional meetings for both students and faculty mentors. Biology faculty have a large, renewing internal grant from the UWEC differential tuition program that supports 20 research students each summer and provides funding for faculty stipends, travel, and supplies. UWEC’s strategic plan includes seeking national distinction in health and human wellbeing, becoming a leader in equity, diversity, and inclusion, and integrating undergraduate research and creative activity in all disciplines. We strongly encourage individuals committed to these ideals to apply.
