    Salary Range: $60,000 to $65,000

    Position Summary: The Biological Sciences (BioSci) Program is seeking a fixed term faculty member to join the BioSci Program teaching team. The successful candidate will join a diverse group of educators and discipline-based education researchers dedicated to providing high-quality undergraduate biology education. The initial appointment will be for one year (9 months) with expectation of continuing renewal based on satisfactory performance. The successful candidate will serve as curriculum coordinator and instructor for BS171, a large enrollment introductory cell and molecular biology course designed for life-science majors. Responsibilities will include: 1) Leading BS171 instructors in continuing development of a three-dimensional laboratory curriculum that guides students through inquiry-based research projects. 2) Training, supervising, and evaluating graduate teaching assistants and undergraduate learning assistants. 3) Working with prep staff to ensure smooth lab implementation. 4) Teaching recitations and serving as an instructor in the course. 

     

    Qualifications: A Ph.D. in the biological sciences or related fields is required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience leading teams of instructors, curriculum development, supervising graduate teaching assistants and undergraduate learning assistants, and teaching cell and molecular related undergraduate laboratories that include research experiences.
