    The Department of Ecology and Evolution at Stony Brook University invites applications for a one-year non-tenure-track position at the rank of Lecturer. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in ecology, evolution, biology education, or a related field at the time of appointment and experience teaching undergraduate biology majors and/or non-majors using active learning methods. The successful candidate will co-teach active-learning sections of an introductory biology course (BIO 201 Organisms to Ecosystems) and work with undergraduate and graduate student teaching assistants. The successful candidate may also be asked to teach additional courses in areas such as evolution, genomics, and human genetics.     Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of and/or experience with: implementing active learning in collaborative group settings, working with undergraduate and/or graduate teaching assistants, using Vision and Change in Undergraduate Biology (AAAS 2011) to guide instruction, addressing student misconceptions, teaching with educational technology, and aligning instruction with equity and diversity goals.
